Locating and saving Kaltura Capture files

Sometimes, Kaltura Capture doesn't upload your content correctly. If you have a standard narrated screen recording (without webcam footage) then you can upload it directly from your computer to your MediaSpace storage, rather than letting Kaltura Capture do it for you.

 

Kaltura Capture recordings are saved in a special, hidden folder on your PC. To access them, do the following...

Open Windows Explorer on your computer.

In the address bar, copy and paste the following address:

%localappdata%\Kaltura\Capture\Recordings

You will see a list of video files (ending .mp4) and other files.

Find your required video file and right click on it. Choose Copy.

Go to your desktop, right click and choose Paste.

You can then upload this file to MediaSpace, submit it as a video assessment or use Handbrake to compress it if it is over 300MB.

Open Finder on your Mac.

On the top menu, choose Go > Go to Folder…

Copy and paste the following address:

~/Library/Preferences/Kaltura/Capture/Recordings
